Everyone Has a Story- Using Digital Storytelling in the Classroom
As teachers, we often find that our students have connection to the curriculum in ways that we often don't realize. In addition, while many millennials posses the ability to use digital media, many of them don't know how to use that media to create usable products for real world applications.

Digital storytelling allows students to make personal connections to content by telling stories and to gain practical skills by telling stories through digital media and then sharing them with parents, other students and the community.

This hands-on session will allow participants to create digital media products through a variety of methods. Please bring a Chromebook/ iPad or other device.

Sharing My Voice: Using Blogging in the Middle School Classroom
If you give students a place to write that they can get excited about-- they are more willing to get their words out and share their voices. Blogging seems to excite them as it is a familiar medium for the technologically savvy student. As a writer, I wanted to show my students a way to showcase their own writing, and also have a way for them to complete writing projects in a medium they are both familiar with and would find more interesting to utilize beyond a Google Doc. We'll look at two projects using Google Sites and find a way to utilize it within your own classroom.

Speaking Across the Curriculum
We have all listened to student presentations and wondered why they are so bad. The answer is that our students do not speak enough in their classes. I have been teaching Public Speaking for three years and I have some ideas for how we can improve our speaking and presentations in all classes. Ideas will be presented and time allotted for teachers to plan how to use the ideas in their own classrooms.
