We all know there aren't enough hours in the school day to fit "everything in." Explore how to rearrange our plates and plan interdisciplinary lessons as an individual teacher or as a team to maximize student learning. Incorporate global connections, student choice, and student voice through student engagement project based learning. Participants will leave with ideas and inspiration to develop, and design engaging units, activities, and lessons to meet the needs of all learners. This session is great for individuals or grade level teams. This session will maximize learning and engagement of students. 

Students want to know that their work has real-world application and learn better when there are connections across many disciplines. PBL creates learning situations in which students interact with professionals to solve a problem or answer a driving question. Actual pbl examples from a 2nd grade class will be shared with information and resources for any grade level and subject.

Curriculum standards: PBL can cover many standards. It all depends on the driving question and the teacher that designs it.

ISTE Standard 6:Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.
ISTE Standard 7: Students use digital tools to broaden their perspectives and enrich their learning by collaborating with others and working effectively in teams locally and globally.
